The project involved a 210 m² apartment located in a 1970s building on Orense Street in Madrid.
The project began with a complete reorganization of the space to adapt it to current needs, maximizing natural light and creating a more fluid layout.
The new design includes three bedrooms, one of which is conceived as a master suite with a dressing room and private bathroom. The living area is structured around a spacious living-dining room, separate from the kitchen. The kitchen incorporates a breakfast nook, as well as direct access to a drying/laundry area, all organized to efficiently handle household chores.
One of the project’s defining elements is the incorporation of curved partitions that define the transition between the living area and the bedrooms. These soft geometries bring movement, personality, and a contemporary character to the space.
The aesthetic is inspired by Nordic design, where warmth and simplicity are combined with a carefully curated selection of materials. Wooden flooring takes center stage, providing continuity throughout the home. This design language is complemented by the use of sandy-toned porcelain tiles in the bathrooms and kitchens, which act as a counterpoint, adding texture and a natural feel. The materiality is further enhanced by warm finishes in the kitchen and bathroom furnishings, harmonizing the overall design and balancing the interior composition.
The result is a bright, organized, and functional home, with meticulous attention to detail.
