DOUBLE UVE OBRADOR

Design· Interior design

We try to achieve an atmosphere as warm and artisanal as possible.

The starting point for this project, located near the Retiro Park in Madrid, were two premises linked only by small gaps between them, which led to maintain the differentiation between the two and to use one premises as a cafeteria and product sales, and the other as a bakery. It was sought that both had great visual connection with the street, also giving visibility to the work of the workshop.

The delicacy and artisan care with which Doble Uve carries out its daily activity, inspired us to try to achieve an atmosphere as warm and artisan as possible. For this, we chose finishes that evoke these sensations from its materiality and manufacture, with the prominence of unique handmade clay pieces, such as the exquisite breads (from Todo Barro) that wrap, not only the floor, extending beyond the threshold, but the counter, benches or reserved areas.

The polished concrete; the white ceiling fixtures; the tones of the walls; or the ceramic lamps, complete the overall feeling, amplified by the perfect choice of kitchenware and decorative elements of our customers.

The premises have a more public area at the entrance, which is connected to the street through a large swinging window; and with the workshop, through two openings that allow to understand the elaboration of the products. The clientele tastes the product oriented to all these openings and the protagonist is the counter of clay pieces, which is the heart of the business.

The quieter area of the premises, with clay benches and custom-made carpentry pieces, is articulated around the patio of the community, in which vegetation is placed and which introduces natural light into these quieter spaces.
